Climate change is the main focus of our generation. After video games and Pearl Jam, it’s our generation’s way of staying relevant and showing up other generations (possibly). For the last 8 years it didn’t really feel like leaders cared or put the money where their mouth is to support sustainable infrastructure or clean energy. Now their is bipartisan items such as $7.5 billion devoted to electric vehicle charging infrastructure and $500 billion in new renewable energy credits. I’m optimistic that in addition to buying weed in NJ and New York soon, that the state will also reimburse us for 50% of the cost of battery storage with solar panels. Several of my friends and colleagues have said that they have a lightly used car for the pandemic errands but their next car will be electric. I think it’s catching on in a large way. I plan on devoting more time and energy towards climate activism, keeping my lifestyle minimum to a tee.
